"Buyer Beware!"
...a movie

Helpful information about some dog trainers?

Well, the information on this page is only slightly "tongue in cheek."
It's here, mostly because many people don't really know what to look for when choosing a dog trainer. You will probably choose to hire somebody who's website, information and personality are the most appealing to you. I wanted to find a fun way of bringing to your attention the fact that far too many of the dog trainers working in L.A. today have very little by way of "qualifications."

When the economy started to spiral downward, many of the people who found themselves without work decided to look for a way to make money. Since there are so many people who have dogs, and there are a couple of very popular "dog training" TV shows out there, it was natural that quite a few people would form the bright idea of trying their hand at being dog trainers. Dog training is a largely unregulated industry, so it was easy for people to make up some business cards, throw together a website, and "hang up a shingle," as it were. And although they may know very little about dogs
and dog behavior, many of these people charge just as much, or in some cases,
even more money than the knowledgeable, experienced dog trainers,
without even a tenth of their training ability or skill set.

So watch my little movie to learn a few things and maybe even have a laugh.
Hopefully, it will help you to make an informed decision about which dog trainer you would prefer
to work with. At least you will have an idea of what a professional dog trainer should know.

So take a few minutes to watch and then,
      "Let the buyer beware!"
